The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection, Hon. Ashit K. Gungah in his address to EM’s staff, stressed on the very important role that EM has in the promotion of exports and reiterated his Ministry’s full support to enable the organization achieve its strategic objectives.
Vision 2030: Key focus areas
The aim behind achieving the Second Economic Miracle and Vision 2030 is to put Mauritius into the league of high income economies.

Contact Promotion Programme – Spain
Enterprise Mauritius will be leading the participation of seven apparel operators for a Contact Promotion Program which will be held from 21st to 23rd September in two major cities of Spain namely Barcelona & Madrid.
EM is planning to organize the first participation of local operators in an international fair in Russia. WorldFood Moscow is a leading international exhibition for food products held in the Expocentre, Moscow, to be held from 14 to 17 September 2015.

The visit of the President of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to Mauritius in August 2015, prompted interest from Ghanaian buyers to explore possibilities of sourcing from Mauritius. Visit of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic
Her Excellency Mrs. Blanka Fajkusova paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Radhakrishna, CEO of Enterprise Mauritius in August 2015. The ambassador highlighted that the relationship between Czech Republic and Mauritius is based on common vision and mutual interest.
Following the visit of a high level business delegation of the Czech Republic to Mauritius, Enterprise Mauritius is planning to conduct a Buyers Seller Meeting in Prague so as to further accentuate the Czech-Mauritius business environment. Read more…

Freight Rebate Scheme for Exports to Africa, Madagascar, and Reunion Island
The Freight Rebate Scheme is now opened to all shipping lines and has been extended to other ports in Africa, Madagascar, and Reunion Island following budgetary measures announced in 2014.The scheme consists of a 25% refund of freight cost, up to maximum of US$300 per 20ft container for export to selected approved Ports in Africa, Madagascar, and Reunion Island…. Export Credit Insurance Scheme for Africa
Export Credit Insurance Scheme provide a subsidy on the cost of credit insurance premium to eligible enterprises (Beneficiary client) subscribing for Credit Insurance Cover for their direct exports to Africa in order to encourage them to take a credit insurance cover and hence boost up trade with Africa. 40 participants, divided in 2 groups, are now attending this workshop aimed at helping companies achieve export readiness. The training course will run for 20 half day sessions. Participants will now attend GO EXPORT every Tuesday or Wednesday for 20 continuous weeks. Read more …

People on the move
Ashween Bunwaree joined Enterprise Mauritius in 2008 as Manager. He served as Manager Agro-Industry from 2008 till August 2015 but was also called upon to shoulder responsibilities as Manager Services (2008-2009), Manager Textiles (2011), Ag. Senior Manager Operations (2014) and Manager Research (2015). Ashween has been active in promoting agro-processed and agricultural products. He contributed to identify opportunities in new markets and expand the range of agro products
Ashween left EM in August 2015 to join the Mauritius Sugar Syndicate as Chief Marketing Officer. We wish him well in his next endeavour.
