On 12 March 2014, Mauritius celebrated its 46th Independence Anniversary and its 22nd Anniversary as a Republic.  Over the last 46 years, Mauritius has undergone record shattering transformation from a mono-crop economy to a largely diversified economy in which the services sector accounts for over 70% of GDP and Manufacturing contributing just over 17%.  This prodigious achievement has been realised through constant reforms, re-engineering and re-invention of the economic model to suit the needs of Mauritius in the face of an ever changing global economic landscape, which remains turbulent and unpredictable.  The ensuing results are greater wealth creation for  the nation, higher standard of living for every Mauritian and an improved macroeconomic governance for the growth of the private sector.  In just over four and half decades our Small Island Economy has graduated into a Large Ocean Economy … Read more

Foodex Japan

Enterprise Mauritius participated in FOODEX from 4th to 7th March 2014 in Makuhari Messe, Japan. This was our 4th participation in this event, in collaboration with JETRO. FOODEX is the largest trade fair in Japan and Asia for food products. The 2014 edition recorded more than 75,766 trade visitors, and 2,808 exhibitors from 78 nations and regions.

The Mauritius Rum Festival will be making it’s first UK appearance as a collective rum exhibition at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th April 2014.
