Exports activities have strengthened in the first four months (January to April 2014) and are expected to improve further in the coming months. While Total Exports grew by +6% in the first Quarter of 2014 compared to the same period last year, exports of Export Oriented Enterprise (E.O.Es), registered a growth of +5% for the period January to April 2014, compared to the 2.1% increase for the period January to March 2014. The impulse has come mainly from the textiles, jewellery and seafood sectors. The performing markets remain the USA (+29%), France (+15.4%), Belgium (+26.5%), Italy (14.3%), while our exports to the UK (-16.4%) and South Africa (-20.7%) remain under pressure.
