Seafood Expo Global 2017, Brussels Expo, 25-27 April 2017

Seafood Expo Global (SEG) is the most important seafood trade fair in Europe that enables buyers to meet with suppliers from all around the world.  Together with Seafood Processing Global, SEG is the world’s largest seafood trade fair.  It features more than 1,700 exhibiting companies from over 75 countries.

SEG attracts a number of stakeholders in the fisheries sector from aquaculture to fish processing, including fresh fish, frozen tuna and processed tuna.  It thus represents the ideal platform for Mauritian Seafood Processing companies to exhibit their fresh, frozen and preserved seafood products.  Since 2009 Mauritius has maintained a consistent presence in this fair.  For the 25th edition of SEG, Enterprise Mauritius will be leading a delegation of three seafood companies as follows:

Princes Tuna (Mauritius) Ltd

Princes Tuna (Mauritius) was established in 1999 and is one of the most technologically advanced tuna processing facilities in the world.  It is BRC (British Retail Consortium) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) approved as well certified socially accountable (SA8000)

Products that will be exhibited by Princes Tuna include tuna pouches and tuna cans.

Sapmer Premium Seaproducts

Sapmer Premium Seaproducts fishes and promotes three exceptional products: tropical tuna, Rock Lobster and Patagonian Toothfish.  All these species are frozen directly on board to preserve their ‘Fresher than fresh’ quality, in accordance with the most strict hygiene standards.  Each product is cut from the finest parts of the fish while ensuring full traceability.  Maintained during their whole fishing-storage-production cycle at ultra-low temperatures, Sapmer’s products are shipped to major supermarkets and restaurants from over 30 countries around the world for the pleasure of exceptional food lovers.

Ferme Marine de Mahebourg

Ferme Marine de Mahebourg Ltd is an aquaculture fish farm located in the blue and pure lagoon off the east coast of Mauritius Island.  It grows two species:

  1. Red Drum – Sciaenops ocellatus
  2. European Seabass – Dicentrachus labrax

 These two products will be promoted during SEG 2017.   All species are certified sustainable since 2009 by renowned organisation Friend of the Sea.  It does not use any anti-fouling, antibiotics, GMO. 

All three companies will be exhibiting under the Mauritius Pavilion which will be located in Hall 7.
